To find some opinions on Soap Operas we went around school asking students and teachers what they thought on soap operas and whether they watched them.
From the clips we saw that there was a lot of negativity around soaps and that people thought " they had better things to do with their time". We therefore would have to consider that when thinking about the length of an episode for our soap opera. We also found a lot of variety in peoples preferences on soaps and sometimes people just watch a soap because its on. We did however find a trend in the fact that peoples favourite characters were frequently based on how attractive they are for example Adam who likes Donna from Neighbours " because she's hot!" and also that girls find favourite characters in other girls that are pretty and aspiring. We then need to consider this when creating our characters.
