We created a script that we could give to all of our actors before we started filming so that they could become comfortable with there lines before the cameras were rolling. This meant we used our filming time efficiently and this pleased our actors.
We found that some of our actors would sometimes change the word order or some of the phrasing of the lines to what they felt was more confortable but we didnt mind as we wanted the acting to appear as natural as possible and work with the actors for the best possible result.
Scene 1 - Establishing shot of Letchworth
No dialogue - just background music.
Scene 2 – Adele and Emily meet in corridor.
(camera tracks Adele)
Adele:
(to camera) Hi, you’re new right? Follow me.
Adele & Emily
‘Oh, hi!’
Adele:
‘How are you?’
(Jump cut to Scene 3)
Scene 3 – Emily discovers she’s pregnant
(Variety of shots and angles - close-up, long-shot, shot-reverse-shot, mid-shot)
Adele:
‘It’s already been two minutes!’
Emily:
‘It’s positive!...What am I going to do Adele?!’
(Jump cut to Scene 4)
Scene 4 – Resume corridor scene.
(Camera tracks Emily - close-ups, mid-shots)
Adele:
‘I’ve got some work to do, so I’ll catch you up later okay?’
Emily:
‘Ok cool’
(to camera) ‘Come with me!’
‘This is my boyfriend, James’
(Jump cut to Scene 5)
Scene 5 – Emily and James argue.

Emily:
‘Why do you just want to go out all the time?’
James:
‘Look, I just want to go and have fun with my friends!’
Emily:
‘You don’t have fun with me then?!’
James:
‘We’re not married for god’s sake! Why are you being so jealous and possessive all of a sudden?!’
Emily:
‘I’m pregnant ok!’
(Jump cut to scene 6)
Scene 6 – Resume corridor scene.

Emily:
'So, do you still wanna do something tonight then?'
James:
'Err...I thought I told you I was hanging out with Charlie...'
(walks off)
'Hey Charlie! Are we still on for tonight man?'
Charlie:
'Yeah sure'
(Jump cut to Scene 7)
Scene 7 - Party scene.
(Handheld shot)
No dialogue - just music and background noise.
Scene 8 - Charlie in Common Room/ Resumed corridor scene.
(Camera tracks Charlie)
Charlie:
'Sorry babe'
(Jump cut to Scene 9)
Scene 9 - Pixie's overdose.

Charlie:
'Pixie! What have you done! Wake up Pixie, please!'
