We decided that it would be really effective to make our own original music to put in the trailer at the end to represent what the theme tune would be to our soap. We looked at existing theme tunes and they were very varied with Eastenders being very dramatic, Hollyoaks being very upbeat, Emmerdale being very classical for example so we felt that we didn't have to follow a strict convention for genre but it did have to be catchy and recognisable. We decided to make it quite a serious and dramatic piece.
